  • Limits
  • Continuity
  • Derivatives
  • Differentiation rules
  • Applications of differentiation
  • Related rates
  • Extreme value and mean value theorems

Equivalent Courses[edit | edit source]

  • MATH 1550 is similar but 3 credit hours, but was not offered in Spring 2024. In previous years this was offered only for Oxford study-abroad students.

Resources[edit | edit source]

  • A common textbook for this course is Calculus: Early Transcendentals by Thomas.
  • Paul's Online Notes, Calculus I covers most of these topics. This course site includes some topics that are not a part of MATH 1551, like most of what is contained in the section on "Integrals", "Applications of Integrals", and "Extras". Integration is covered extensively in MATH 1552 (Integral Calculus).
