FASET is the orientation program for new students. At FASET, students receive academic advisement, register for first semester classes, and become familiarized with undergraduate curriculum, programs, and campus services. It costs $115 to attend a FASET session. Traditionally, FASET takes place on campus over 2 days and accommodates parents and siblings. In-state students have the chance to have an earlier FASET, while out-of-state and international students have a FASET date closer to the start of the semester so they can stay on campus.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GT gave the opportunity for students to choose between in-person and virtual FASET sessions, held in mix from end of June to mid-August.

Course Registration

To prepare for FASET, ensure that all of your current test scores (AP, IB, SAT, ACT, A-levels, etc.) have been sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Bring a copy of these scores with you as well. Ensure that all final and official high school and any college transcripts have been sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Bring an unofficial copy of these as well. Prepare a list of courses you would like to take, including plenty of backups. You may not get the classes that you want immediately, but there are still more chances for you to pick up those courses.

On the FASET day, a specific time slot known as a "time ticket" is assigned to students during which they may register. You may view their assigned time ticket on the Web Student Access System. You may access the "Add/Drop Classes" option only during their time ticket.

FASET leaders will be available to help students register, as well as some advisors and the Registrar.

FAQ

Q: Does it matter if I take an earlier FASET date?

A: Not entirely. Classes are reserved for each FASET session to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity. However, students who choose an earlier FASET date will have a higher probability of being able to select their desired timing/professor.

Q: Will I be able to register for courses without FASET?

A: Yes. You will be able to register for classes, but only in Phase 2 (after all the FASET sessions are over). It is recommended to go for FASET, however, picking from Phase 2 will be like going after leftovers.

Q: What if my AP scores come up out after my FASET date?

A: Refer to "Phase AP"
