Due to Georgia Tech's large alumni base, strong traditions, and Georgia's prominent film industry, Georgia Tech has appeared in many works of popular culture, both as itself and in disguised form.[1][2] Notable productions featuring Georgia Tech or filmed on its campus include:

- A Man in Full (2024): The Netflix miniseries, based on Tom Wolfe's novel by the same name, takes place in Atlanta to preserve the city's strong presence in the source material.
- Beauty in Black (2024): Tyler Perry's drama series filmed primarily in Atlanta, featuring scenes shot in and around Technology Square.
In comics, the character Morse an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D who appears in Mockingbird, earned her PhD in biology from the institute[3] and followed her "favorite prof".[4] The character Grunt in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero got his engineering degree at the institute.[3]
