So first off, I think that the lists of resources are great. Also, the prose is very approachable as an explainer to students about these issues.

However, I'm a bit concerned about giving medical advice on this wiki. Other wikis like Wikipedia have policies against it. The section "Mental illness diagnostic criteria" mostly links / summarizes DSM-5 criteria, which is alright I guess.

But the FAQ section on involuntary commitment makes specific recommendations based on hearsay from r/gatech. Even assuming the reddit comments are genuine and accurate, we are still giving potentially life-changing advice based on extremely limited information. The stated conditions at GT Counseling and external inpatient programs could also change over time, and we would be responsible for updating our information.

I believe that the only good way for students to get this information would be to talk with their peers or student mental health support groups, which are more likely to have accurate, current information and might be able to adapt their recommendations to their specific concerns.

Because of this risk, I propose removing the 2 FAQ bullet points altogether. --Alexp (talk) 14:50, 16 May 2022 (EDT)
