I think for the course pages we need to make tables for standard information like prereqs, registration info, which majors require it, etc.

I would agree with that, and move this page to List of Courses Dacnum0 (talk) 13:29, 19 May 2021 (EDT)

Sure, OSCAR pages for courses list the prereqs, for example

this page for CS 1332 (this is what gt-scheduler.org parses). I wonder if it would be worth making an embedded thingy that would pull up the data from OSCAR (so we wouldn't have to copy-paste it and it would always be updated). or maybe a mediawiki bot to update the section with the correct prereqs once in a while. idk

Registration info: idk, this will usually be a short section, and there are guides for stuff like linked lab classes that we can link to / make pages for.

As for which majors require which classes, it might be a bit difficult to include all the majors... maybe we should go the other way around, making pages with info on which classes are required for each major.

For example, a page on Computer Science Scheduling could link to GT official websites for which courses are required, degree plans, etc. And we could put notes / additional explanations and advice / clarifications on that page (For example, some CS thread plans include classes which are no longer offered / have different class numbers like CS Ethics). Then users could easily use the Course page (or searchbar) to get the wiki entry for each class (or we could copy the entire degree plan / required classes to like a table or something with links to our wiki pages but that might be a hassle)

Anyway, I think we should have a standard set of links to class pages and OSCAR for every course, which we will supplement with a few paragraphs of summary and clarification. And then the rest of the course page can be helpful resources, personal anecdotes, etc. I just think it's important to have the official gatech.edu links at the top to nudge ppl to double check in case we transcribed things wrong.

Oh never mind, I see what you mean. Yeah I agree with Dacnum0, we could totally move this page to List of Courses --Alexp (talk) 13:54, 19 May 2021 (EDT)
